Empowering students to pursue careers in science and medicine

Ever wonder what an embryo looks like as it develops? If so, then you should think about applying to PARS! We invite high school students (grades 10-12), who are interested in science and medicine, to apply.
What is PARS? A workshop led by expert clinicians and scientists. PARS incorporates a mix of small-group discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on lab activities to explore current research topics in reproductive health. Topics include: female reproductive anatomy and physiology, fertilization, embryo development, stem cells, genetics, epigenetics, and oncofertility. You will also dive into a journal article, discuss ethical decision-making, and prepare for future careers in science and medicine!
PARS runs 4 consecutive Saturdays in late February and March, from 9am-1pm each day at the University of Pennsylvania. Participants must be able to attend all four sessions of the workshop to apply and be eligible for the paid summer internship starting the end of June through the beginning of August.
PARS is FREE to 10th -12th grade students in Philadelphia area schools.
SEPTA cards can be provided for transportation; the need for transportation assistance does not affect your eligibility. Snacks will be provided each Saturday.
