IRM Faculty and Lab Featured on Cover of Cell Stem Cell!

A team of researchers led by Hongjun Song, PhD, and Guo-li Ming, MD, PhD (IRM Associate Director), are featured on the cover of the most recent issue of Cell Stem Cell!

In this issue, Shen et al. reveal the critical role of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA methylation in hypothalamic neurogenesis using both mouse models and a human-brain-subregion-specific arcuate nucleus organoid (ARCO) model. They further show that defective m6A signal leads to aberrant feeding behavior and adult obesity in mice. The cover image highlights the gating of m6A in the complex process of differentiating neural stem cells into feeding-related neurons from ARCOs and its impact on feeding behavior and obesity.
