Call for Proposals

The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IRM) is excited to announce a Call for Proposals for two different grant opportunities.

Collaborative Research Grants (CRG)

The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IRM) is supporting major two-year collaborative projects in any area of stem cell biology, regenerative biology, or regenerative medicine. The IRM will provide $50,000 awards to research teams who can secure matching funds from partnering entities, including other Institutes & Centers, Departments, and Schools. The IRM will award two CRGs in 2020.

Applicants must be faculty members of the IRM. Successful applicants must submit a progress report by April 30, 2021 to be eligible for a second year of support. The IRM encourages both basic and translational research proposals.

Proposals will be evaluated for overall study quality, relevance to the IRM’s mission, and the value of the collaboration to the proposed study. The IRM will place special emphasis on projects that are well positioned for future NIH P/U series (or equivalent) funding.

Magid Innovation Award

In honor of their generous pledged gift, the IRM is pleased to announce the Mickey & Larry Magid Innovation Award. This one-year award of $50,000 will be given to a high-risk, high-reward proposal in any area of stem cell biology, regenerative biology, or regenerative medicine. The IRM will select one Magid Innovation Award winner in 2020.

Applicants must be faculty members of the IRM. Both translational and basic science projects are welcome. Proposals will be evaluated for the quality of the study, relevance to IRM’s mission, and the potential impact of the funded research on the field. Applicants must be comfortable meeting with IRM donors and explaining their research to non-experts.
